I got some unique item from oversea. yes, this product has not been sold in local market ( well, it could be people have found there isn't any business opportunity in this item).. anyway, that is not what i want talk about now.
I launched the product at one of the local flee market. I got ZERO business for today. But, it was a fruitful day. I started to 'feel' the market. I will note down what i get today. It serves as a reminder as well as guidelines for business or marketing strategy plan...
*- Marketing tools - Photos, banners or other materials that show where, what, when, why and how consumer can they use the product.
- Marketing tools - Materials show the efficiency of the product; replenish the energy
- Market awareness - Market awareness to the operation principle of the product- low. I believe this could be due to cultural thingy. Actually, the public knows about it, but they just do not practice it.
*- Packaging - the current packing gives consumers a wrong impression that the product can only be used for certain purpose. the KEY failure for the day. I am thinking to repackaging the product to overcome this point.
- Pricing - Is the selling i set today accept by public at such venue? I am in doubt.
*- Future contact - I was asked for my business card, SHIT! I did not equip with business card.. another failure.
*- Channel of sales - After today's experience i feel direct selling is not the right channel of sales at the moment. Maybe I should look into others area, eg, road shows to create market awareness, then creates distributor sales channel.
*- Channel of sales - Is flee market the right venue for such product? The answer is NO,unless the product is well known to the public.
CONCLUSION
There is still a long long long way to go......
